The Kim Holmes Frederick scholarship:
Eligibility Qualifications:
● You must be a high school senior at St. James High School.
● The scholarship must be used for the purpose of study at an academically accredited two or four-year college/university or vocational school.
● Community service involvement is required in the selection of scholarship recipients.
How to Apply:
High school seniors are eligible to apply and must complete the following to be considered:
● Complete all the fields in the application through the link.

Students will have to be logged into their Google account to complete the application.
● The completed application will also include an essay with a minimum of 250words. Your scholarship essay should reflect on your community service experiences. Include how your community service has impacted you.
● The completed application will also include 2 letters of reference from a teacher and a community service member.
Selection of Recipients and Payment
● The recipients will be notified at the senior awards ceremony.
● Upon award of the scholarship, a check will be issued directly to the institution where the student will attend college

Please see the information below and attached regarding the Clemson University Residential Entrepreneurship Summer Camp, scheduled to be held on the campus of Clemson University, from July 20 – July 24, 2026. This is a wonderful opportunity for current 10th and 11th graders to consider, as it offers an opportunity to be exposed to, and learn from innovators and entrepreneurs from all over the country. Students will need to apply for one of the 100 slots available to prospects from all over South Carolina.

These events allow students to learn more about specific HGTC programs, receive information about admissions, receive help with financial aid applications, learn more about the college, and more.

Information about Cybersecurity:
This is a 2-year program, starting in Junior year and continuing into Senior year with an option to finish the program in the summer after graduation.
Requirements:
Student has already earned their computer science graduation requirement.
Student has currently earned or will be enrolled fall 2025 in Algebra 2 Honors and English 3 Honors.
HGTC is using multiple measures for admission.
Student will need transportation to school for 3rd block, they will work on they cyber classes at home for 1st and 2nd block.
Information about Welding:
This is a 1 year- program for high school seniors who are on track to graduate and meet requirements within the parameters of the program (2 high school courses allowed each semester) and admissions requirements for HGTC.
12 semester hours in the fall and spring: students will be at the Conway campus Manufacturing Building everyday from 8-11 am. They must provide their own transportation. Students will then report to SJHS for any classes.
HCS will cover the tuition for those two semesters
*students who wish to continue with the program and receive Advanced Welding Technologies Certificate from HGTC will finish 10 semester hours during summer session (will not count as high credit and HCS does not cover tuition)

Senior Portraits included in your school’s yearbook will require students dressed in either a Black Drape or a Tuxedo. Prestige will provide these outfits at the time of your session. Please wear appropriate undergarments under these outfits. We suggest a white t-shirt to wear under the tux and something strapless to wear under the drape.

Location: St James High School
All 11th grade students (third year of high school) and 12th grade students (fourth year of high school) are being offered the opportunity to take the ACT or the SAT at their high school during the regular school week at no cost. The State Department of Education (SCDE) will be paying for one assessment per student this year. However, students must sign up in advance to take one of these tests.
ACT is February 25, 2026
SAT is March 4, 2026
