Dolly Parton Imagination Library presented by Murray-Calloway County A book a month for 5 years, to get kids Kindergarten Ready, empower their families to read, and prepare our youth for school success.

In 1996, Dolly Parton launched an exciting new effort, Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, to benefit the children of her home county in East Tennessee, USA. Dolly's vision was to foster a love of reading among preschool children and their families by providing them with a specially selected book each month. By mailing quality, age-appropriate books directly to their homes, she wanted children to be excited about books. Moreover, every child would have books, regardless of their family’s income. Currently the Imagination Library is in over 1600 communities nationwide.
