CCHS seniors participated in the MSU High School Leadership Summit yesterday, where they heard from a standout keynote speaker and attended several leadership breakout sessions.

Congrats to CCHS senior Maya Munoz!

She has been named the September Student of the Month by the Rotary Club of Murray.

Munoz is a standout academic at CCHS with a 4.16 weighted grade point average and is projected to be a valedictorian upon graduation. She scored a remarkable 33 composite score on The ACT Test and has won class awards in Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, English I, II, and III, Chemistry, Art, and Digital Literacy.

Munoz has taken an impressive amount of advanced classes at CCHS. In May, she will graduate from CCHS with 5 dual credit college classes and 2 Advanced Placement classes. Munoz was also chosen for the Governor’s Scholars Program at Morehead State this summer. She was accepted into The Gatton Academy at WKU as a sophomore, but chose to finish her academics at CCHS.

Outside the classroom, Munoz is a standout on the school’s academic team. She is also the co-president in the school’s Future Business Leaders of America chapter and numerous FBLA state competition awards. She is also in the BETA Club, National Honor Society, Leadership Tomorrow, and Student Council. She is also an avid dancer and is an inductee in the National Honors Society of Dance Arts.

In the community, Munoz volunteers coaching the CCMS Academic Team. She also volunteers with the Murray Rockets Special Olympics. She is also an active member in her church’s youth group.

After high school, Munoz is undecided on her choice of college. She plans to major in Biochemistry as an undergraduate and eventually attend medical school to become an oncologist.

Maya is the daughter of Angelo and Julie Munoz.
