SCREENING: FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. NOTE: 7PM START TIME. Please join us for "The Tallest Dwarf" on September 24 & 26. In this documentary, director Julie Wyman explores her family history of "partial dwarfism" and works with a wide-ranging community of Little People to examine and celebrate their culture. The film uses artistic workshops, archival footage, and probing family interviews to portray dwarfism not as a problem to be erased through medical interventions, but as an identity to be celebrated. Sponsored by the Medical and Health Humanities Program. All screenings this semester are on Thursdays and Saturdays at 7:00pm in Faculty Hall Room 208, half an hour earlier than past years. Closest parking is along N. 15th Street between Olive and Hughes.

This Sundance award winner follows live-in housekeeper Val, who has become deeply enmeshed in her wealthy employers' family dynamics in São Paulo. When Val's estranged daughter Jéssica comes to town to prepare for a crucial college exam, this carefully constructed world starts to unravel in darkly hilarious ways that probe Brazil's class and gender dynamics. Our new Fall 2026 Line Up is available!!! The first film is the Oscar nominated animated feature, Little Amélie or the Character of Rain, perfect for Family Weekend (September 10 and 12). All films will be in Murray State campus's Faculty Hall, Room 208, starting at 7pm. The closest parking will be along 15th street, across the quad from Faculty Hall.

This epic traces the arc of the 20th Century through the life of an avant-garde Hungarian architect who survives the Holocaust and immigrates to the US. A chance encounter with a wealthy American allows him to begin working as an architect again, but his increasingly complex relationship with his patron threatens to compromise his artistic vision—and takes this maximalist film to surprising and shocking places.
