This week, our 1st graders have been reading “Who Put the Cookies in the Cookie Jar?” during reading!

At the end of the story, students discovered a sugar cookie recipe. So, on Friday, our wonderful cafeteria staff visited the 1st grade classrooms and helped our students make their very own sugar cookies! 👩‍🍳🍪

What a fun way to bring reading to life and turn a recipe from a story into a hands-on learning experience!

It’s been SO hot that our East Lakers haven’t been able to enjoy outdoor recess lately, but that hasn’t stopped us from having fun!

Our students have been making the most of indoor recess with their friends, playing, laughing, and making memories together!

We can’t wait for cooler temperatures and outdoor recess, but until then, we’ll keep finding ways to have fun together!

🚗🎉 128 CARS IN OUR GRANDPARENTS’ DAY PARADE! 🎉🚗

What a fun and exciting morning we had at East Elementary! We were so excited to welcome 128 cars filled with our amazing grandparents and loved ones for our Grandparents’ Day Parade!

Our students absolutely loved getting to see their grandparents, and we loved seeing all of the creativity and fun that went into decorating the cars!

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us and make this morning so special. We are so thankful for our East family and the special people who love and support our students!

On Tuesday, we celebrated International Dot Day, and we absolutely loved getting to celebrate with our amazing East Lakers!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who took the time to turn in dots to help decorate and add to our school! Our students have loved seeing all the encouraging messages and, even better, reading the special notes written just for them!
