We’ve totaled up the volunteer sign-in sheets from the year and we have an amazing number to share: Volunteers at our school spent 2,605 hours helping out!

This is only a record of hours AT the school for events, reading, copies, art literacy and PTA help. But it doesn’t include any of the hours spent at home, in board meetings, or on field trips. Pretty incredible! Thank you for everyone who helped out this year. It takes a village!

We can’t let the year end without a MASSIVE thank you for our fabulous PTA president, Taryn McDonough!

We’ve been totaling up the hours year round of volunteers in our school and Taryn is consistently on the leader board! She has put in hours and hours of her personal time to make our school and community a little bit brighter. She has recruited many new faces to PTA and led us fearlessly through art projects, movie nights, fundraising, teacher appreciation, eagle store and experiences, parties, and so many good vibes! And she’s taken over 1,000 photos- so we really know she LOVES this school!

Thank you Austin, and the entire McDonough family for sharing Taryn with us as PTA president the past two years! We so appreciate your service to our school.

Teacher appreciation week begins Monday! Lots of volunteers are hard at work decorating the school! Come check it out next week. 🎉

Every month, the students at Viewmont get to learn about a different artist and make their own artwork inspired by that month’s artist. This month, our students are learning about Vincent Van Gogh and getting to paint to their own canvas with a palette of paints.

Big thank you to Erica Colton and Ashley Nelson for being the Art Literacy Chairs this year. And thanks to our Viewmont community for contributing to our fundraiser so we can purchase 460 art supplies each month.

Catching up on some past events this winter…

We’ve got to give a huge shoutout to our incredible kindergarten teachers. Before the holiday, winter break, they organized an epic Polar Express party for their students. They received tickets, played games, wore their pajamas, and each student was given a scarf with their name on it! What an amazing effort, especially during the busiest time of the year.

Big thanks to Ms. Williams, Felt, Sorenson, and McIntosh. We’re so glad you’re at Viewmont!

Thank you all for your generous food donations for our teachers! The PTA was able to supply them with breakfast, snacks, and dinner during their extra hours with parent teacher conference.

And thanks so much for supporting the book fair! It’s a fabulous fundraiser for our school and provides our teachers with the Scholastic magazines for their students to practice reading in class.
