Attention: Choir Parents and Students

All Choir Members
Invitations went out this afternoon to your student email accounts to join the 2026-2027 Choir Google Classroom. Please log into your Calloway email and accept your invitation so you can practice your Fall Concert pieces.

An amended Fall Choir calendar with info about our Red Out Performance and our Fall Choir Concert at Murray State went home with Choir students on Monday afternoon. Let Mrs. McManus know you didn't get this flyer. One will also be linked in their Choir Google Classroom.

Auditions for students interested in participating in First District Honor Choir will begin with scales tomorrow (9/17) during normal Choir time.

7/8th grade All State Choir Audition Candidates
Mrs. McManus can stay after tomorrow (9/17) with any 7th and 8th grade Choir members planning to make an audition recording for KMEA Jr. High All State. We will meet in the Choir Room from 3:15-4:30. Please make sure you have a ride in the front parking lot by 4:30. ⚓️🎶

🎉 Congratulations to our Student of the Week, Charlee Bazzell! 🎉

Charlee, a student at Calloway County Middle School, was nominated by her 8th grade teachers, who wrote:

Meet Charlee Bazzell, The Murray Bank Student of the Week from Calloway County Middle School. Charlee is the daughter of Micah & Lauren Bazzell and was nominated by the entire 8th grade team at CCMS. Mrs. Emeline Ray, on behalf of her teachers, wrote the following about Ms. Bazzell: "Her overall kindness, responsibility, and positive attitude make her such a joy to have in class. She consistently gives her best and treats everyone with kindness."

She is a joy to be around, and does a tremendous job of finding balance. She is a great student, academically, and extends herself beyond the classroom to assist as a teacher's assistant, a member of the yearbook staff, and one of our amazing talents on the girl's softball and soccer teams.

📣 Two CCMS athletic updates:

Tomorrow evening (Tuesday, September 15th) there will be an informational meeting for our archery program. This will be in the high school cafeteria at 6:00pm. Please come out and attend, if interested! 🏹

Also, tomorrow night’s football game against Trigg County has been cancelled. We are working to try and find a date to reschedule, if possible, and will post if/when determined. 🏈

Good morning, Laker Nation!

Out of an abundance of caution due to expected temperatures and heat advisories this week, we have postponed our Red Out event (which was to be held tomorrow afternoon, September 15th) to Thursday, October 1st for students.

Students who are unable to make the October 1st date can request a refund, and those who did not pay but wish to now attend due to the date change will have opportunity again to purchase a ticket September 28-30th at the school. All students who paid already and can attend on the new date will not need to do anything, as everything will just transfer to the new date.

Please check this page regularly this week, as we have several athletic events that could be cancelled as the weather impacts this. We will make those calls as early as we can and will always do so with the interest of student safety as a priority in making the decision, in conjunction with our visiting athletes' schools, district administrative teams, and athletic directors.

CCMS 8th graders attended the SPARK career exploration event at Murray State yesterday!

SPARK is for all 8th graders in Calloway and Murray and organized by the Murray-Calloway Chamber of Commerce. Students interact with numerous local businesses with activities in an attempt to "spark" a future career path.
