Students in Dr. Jessica Pryor’s ELE 413: Science Methods course recently participated in Project WILD, a hands-on conservation and environmental education program designed for K–12 educators.

Led by Dr. Kim Vigil and Nancy Kiernan from the Department of Wildlife and Natural Resources, students spent the day learning both indoors and outdoors, exploring interactive activities they can bring into their future classrooms. 🍃🔬

Experiences like these give our future educators new ways to make science engaging, active and memorable for their students! 💙💛

Celebrate National Day of Play with us this Saturday! 💙💛

Murray State's Health and Physical Education program is bringing Healthy Horseplay to the Doran Arboretum for a morning all about getting outside, getting moving, and rediscovering the joy of play! 🌳☀️

Families can explore open-ended building and creative materials designed to encourage movement, imagination, connection and, most importantly, PLAY! ⭐️🐎

Tressa Ross, COEHS Recruitment and Retention Coordinator, and Dr. Samir Patel, Acting Interim Dean, spent the morning at Webster County High School for its 2026–27 College Application Event!

The event gave juniors and seniors an opportunity to explore college options, ask questions, and learn more about the programs, experiences, and opportunities waiting for them at Murray State and within the College of Education and Human Services.

In celebration of the National Day of Play, Murray State’s Health and Physical Education (HPE) program is hosting Healthy Horseplay on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 10 a.m.–Noon at the Doran Arboretum!

This FREE event invites children ages 3–10 to get moving, get creative and — most importantly — PLAY! 🌟 Families can enjoy open-ended building, creative activities and plenty of opportunities for kids to explore, connect and use their imaginations.

Taking science methods beyond the classroom! 🔬

Students in ELE413: Elementary Science Methods visited Hancock Biological Station to explore how local wildlife, ecology, and community resources can bring science standards to life for elementary learners.

During the visit, our future educators learned how to design engaging science centers, incorporate experts as classroom guest speakers, and organize meaningful field trips using local resources.

It’s hands-on experiences like these that help prepare our students to create engaging learning opportunities in their own future classrooms. 💙💛

🏃‍♀️🏋️‍♂️ Exploring what’s possible with HPE! 💙💛

Dr. Kim Vigil, co-coordinator of the Health and Physical Education (HPE) program, and several HPE students recently stopped by IDC 100T, a transitions course for undeclared students, to share more about the major, their experiences in the program, and the career paths it can lead to.

Choosing a major is a big decision, and visits like this give students the opportunity to explore their interests, ask questions, and discover a path that might be the right fit! 🐎
