Parkside Elementary-Murray District

Wrapped up the 2025-2026 school year today. A huge thank you to our sponsors, volunteers, teachers, staff, students, and amazing families. Swipe to see this year’s award winners. The Parkside staff made us laugh all day long for Principal Day. We noticed our faces quickly, but it took us a while to connect the dots and figure out that they were dressed like us too. Ms. Cox rallied all the troops, Mr. Turner took it up a notch, and Mrs. Peterson asked everyone to think, what would we do? (keep swiping right to see 😂).We were also showered with cards, flowers, gifts, hugs, and high fives. Thanks to everyone for making us feel appreciated!

Ms. Lundy’s class got to make slime today for filling up their class points PAWS chart. They earn points for being awesome in classes with specials teachers like art, library, PE, and STEM and following school expectations when they are out and about around the school.

Parkside and Viewmont’s CSN classes have been pen pals this year. Monday, they got to meet each other in person for a party. Thank you to Murray Park for providing a pavilion! Unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate so it was held in Ms. Lizzie’s room here at Parkside, but we are always so grateful for community partnerships and connection.

Students that participate in our after school programs sponsored by the got to attend a baseball game at the University of Utah! Tons of Swoop time and seeing two home runs were the highlights. We are grateful to everyone that supports after school programs at Parkside and makes these experiences possible for our students. Go Utes!

We love the Walk and Roll Challenge by and love it when our students win! Congrats!

Wellness Week was a huge success thanks to a big lift from our social works Brandi Sandoval and Alex Popham, and partnered with students in Sources of Strength from Murray High and Hillcrest Junior. Teachers were also treated to a relaxing sound bath experience during their planning time on Wednesday. Thank you to everyone that helped!

Congrats to Mrs Cami Palmer for being Parkside’s Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Lauri Aloi for Parkside’s Educator Support Professional of the Year, and Merissa Graves for being Parkside’s Licensed Professional. We appreciate all their contributions!
