We lost a good one today, may her dreams live on. Rest in Peace, Ms. Dolly. 💖

DOLLY PARTON’S IMAGINATION LIBRARY

Imagination Library launched locally through Read SI in July 2024 and has since enrolled more than 10,000 children and delivered more than 200,000 free books across 18 Southern Illinois counties.

Inspired by her father’s inability to read and write, Dolly started her Imagination Library in 1995 for the children within her home county. Today, her program spans five countries and gifts millions of free books each month to children around the world.

“When I was growing up in the hills of East Tennessee, I knew my dreams would come true. I know there are children in your community with their own dreams. They dream of becoming a doctor or an inventor or a minister. Who knows, maybe there is a little girl whose dream is to be a writer and singer.

The seeds of these dreams are often found in books and the seeds you help plant in your community can grow across the world.”

This year, all TCSE staff and programs held a BRAND-NEW "orientation" event, called the THRIVE Summit. 🌳 Ward-ASPIRE spent their time working on our core values and reviewing data and strategies that will lead to better outcomes for our hard-working students. Looks like they're off to a great start! 🤩

WHEW! That just happened! We officially made it through our first week BACK TO SCHOOL! (Pat on back for everyone!)

Ward-ASPIRE started off the week with an Open House for their students and parents, it went really well and had a great turnout! We love to see families excited about coming back to see us and continue their learning adventures!

✨ Welcome Back, TCSE Family! ✨

A new school year means new opportunities to make a difference and no one does that better than the incredible people of Tri-County Special Education.

As we begin this year, let's stay rooted in our core values: Dignity, Inclusion, Collaboration, Accountability, and Growth. These aren't just words on a wall, they are the foundation of who we are, how we lead, and how we serve.

And if there's one thing I hope we all remember each day, it's this:

❤️ Love our kids.
Your presence matters. Your kindness matters. Your patience matters. Sometimes the greatest lesson a student learns isn't found in a curriculum, it's found in knowing someone showed up, believed in them, and treated them with dignity and respect.

Together, we'll create opportunities. Together, we'll create lasting change. Most importantly, together, we'll ensure every student knows they are seen, valued, and loved.

I can't wait to see what we accomplish this year.

Here's to an incredible 2026–2027 school year... Let's THRIVE! 💙💚🧡
