Murphy River Walk & Canoe Trail

Murphy River Walk & Canoe Trail 3+ miles of trails following the Hiwassee and Valley Rivers from the L&N Depot to Murphy High School. Thank you!

Since it began conception in 2002, the River Walk has seen the successful completion of all phases of the basic trail construction between Konehete Park and the Old L&N Depot, and now includes the Confluence Loop, Canoe Trails and a trail following the Valley River to Murphy High School. The volunteer project team has undertaken a host of ongoing and future maintenance, landscaping, and interpreti

ve and directional signage, and school class projects on the trail. The Murpy River Walk entered a new phase in 2023 with the Town of Murphy taking over maintenance and future improvments. If you see a downed-tree or any other damage to the River Walk please contact the Town of Murphy at 828-837-2510 ext 4 or [email protected].
