What is Lights on Afterschool? This October 22nd marks the 27th year of this nationwide celebration of afterschool programs and their impact.
Advocates around the country will host unique events highlighting the importance of afterschool in their communities—and we'd love for you to be one of them!
Whether it's your first year celebrating or your 27th, your event doesn't need to be big or costly to have an outsized impact. In previous years:
🔋 Students in Denver, Colorado, built a pretend "energy company" to educate the community
🎨 A glow-in-the-dark party doubled as an art gallery celebrating student resilience in Holiday, Florida
🏃‍♀️ Families in Hatton, North Dakota, ran a nighttime glow run with neighbors lighting porches along the route
