This week, our 3rd graders took a trip to Daisy State Park! They explored the newly renovated grounds, took a guided hike, learned about amphibians, and, of course, played on the amazing playground. So much fun to be had at a place close to home!

What's better than doing math than using math manipulatives? Maybe manipulatives that you can eat? Kindergartners practiced their math in class using different types of manipulatives, including Fruit Loops cereal. Just another day of creative and imaginative learning at MES.

Adventures outside the classroom. 4th graders at MES took a trip to Cossatot River State Park to explore the woods and waters in Howard County. They took a hike down the mountain and got to meet Betty the snake in the visitor center.

This year MES would like to recognize one student and one teacher at each School Board Meeting for their hard work and achievement. During September’s Board Meeting, MES recognized 6th grader Jaili Lamb for her hard work and dedication to the school.

This week, our curious 1st graders embarked on an exciting adventure outside the classroom to explore the wonders of the great outdoors! They took a fun-filled ride to the Rick Evans Grand View Prairie Nature Center, a stunning natural haven that offered them a unique opportunity to connect with nature. Students got to venture out on thrilling trails, discovering hidden gems and learning about the diverse habitats that support a wide range of flora and fauna. They also had the chance to look for animals in their natural habitats, observing their behavior and learning about their fascinating adaptations. But that's not all! They even got to participate in a hands-on activity, dissecting owl pellets to learn about the food chain and the important role that owls play in the ecosystem. This unforgettable experience sparked their curiosity and fostered a deeper appreciation for the natural world.
