Hello parents! We are looking forward to having an amazing evening Monday May 2 (tomorrow!) and helping our 8th graders create a lasting memory. Below you will find a few details for the evening. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Arrival: You may arrive at the grounds at 6pm to take photos at the Estate. The doors to the venue will open at 6:15pm. Only adults on the chaperone list will be allowed inside the venue for safety and crowd reasons. The event starts at 6:30pm. Guests need to be in the building by 7pm, and parents that are not on the chaperone list need to leave at that time as well. (If they are a late arrival due to work or other circumstances, be sure to let me know.) There will be no re-entry after a student has left the grounds. Students are not permitted to roam the Estate. There will be designated supervised outdoor areas for them to mingle once the event begins.
Dress code: There is not an actual "dress code". This is a dressy event, but the level of "dressy" varies from each individual. We want your child to be comfortable wearing what best expresses them that evening. If you have specific questions, please email me.
Parking/Drop off: When you arrive, please enter the gate on the left side of the Manor. There will be 4 parking attendants there directing traffic in and out. Please follow their directions for if you are just dropping off, or if you are parking to take photos.
Food: We are having a buffet style dinner so that the kids can get what they want, when they want. The meal includes chicken fingers with all the sauces, french fries, fresh fruit, chips and dips galore, cookies, an iced tea bar with all types of flavored syrups, and iced water.
Photos: Again, you are welcome to take your photos outside on the Estate. Please be respectful of the property. During the evening, we have a photography team that will be taking photos (candids) and uploading them to a photo sharing app for all parents to see and download as they want. There will be a photo booth at the event for the kids to take photos in and they will get a print out from their booth photos that night to take home.
Pick up: Pick up promptly at 9:30pm! Again the parking attendants will guide you. Be mindful of kids crossing traffic to get to their rides.
If there is an emergency or a situation in which a child needs to be picked up from the dance early, we will call the provided phone number from when you bought your tickets. If there is a different number that we should call, please have your child provide that when they check-in at the entrance that evening.
Thank you all for your support in making this an event to remember! We couldn't have planned this special night without the help of all the 8th grade parents.
Thank you,Mary Retzlaff and the 8th Grade Formal Committee
