Professor Melissa Wald recently received a BMI Trailblazer Award for the song โ€œCall His Name,โ€ recognizing its outstanding number of plays and streams across broadcast and streaming platforms in Gospel Music.

As the songโ€™s administrative publisher, Professor Wald accepted the award at the BMI Trailblazer Awards on July 21 at the BMI office, marking an exciting accomplishment and recognition of her work in the music industry.

Weโ€™re proud to celebrate Recording Industry student Juliette Keller, who has been selected as a 2026โ€“27 GRAMMY U Representative for the Recording Academy!

As one of just 15 GRAMMY U student Representatives serving across 12 Recording Academy Chapters, Juliette will help lead programming and initiatives for GRAMMY U members in her chapter while gaining valuable, hands-on experience with the Recording Academy.

The role also provides opportunities to experience GRAMMY Week in Los Angeles, host red-carpet interviews, contribute to national GRAMMY U programs, and work with the organizationโ€™s Digital Marketing and Membership Committees.

This is an incredible opportunity to build connections, gain real-world industry experience and take another step toward a career in the music business.

We are excited to welcome our new Entertainment Law students!

A new chapter in legal education has officially begun at MTSU! โš–๏ธ๐Ÿ“š

This summer, MTSU welcomed its inaugural cohort of students to the new Master of Science in Legal Studies program, giving students the opportunity to develop specialized legal knowledge and skills for careers across a range of industries.

As part of their first steps into the program, MSLS students participated in Nashville School of Law's New Student Orientation on July 22, where Tennessee Supreme Court Chief Justice Jeffrey S. Bivens administered the Professionalism Oath to MSLS and first-year law students.

The oath is a meaningful reminder of the ethical responsibilities, integrity and commitment to service that are foundational to the legal profession. After the ceremony, Chief Justice Bivens joined MSLS students and program leaders to celebrate the occasion.
