Cason Lane Academy Murfreesboro City Schools is a district of thirteen schools serving over 9,000 students in pre-k through 6th grade.

What a night at CLA! From our STEAM Night projects and our wonderful CLA Chorus performance to Trunk or Treat, it was an evening full of learning, music, fun, and community.

A Day of Celebrations at CLA!

Congratulations to Dr. Mohsen, Ms. Lynch, and Ms. Gregory for being awarded City Schools Foundation Grants! Together, they received $8,177 to support our school. These funds go directly toward programs, resources, and materials that benefit our students. We are so thankful for the extra time and effort they put into creating these opportunities for our Chargers!

Here are a few highlights from our amazing at The Lane!

We welcomed author Robin Lapre during Related Arts! Our students were excited to learn more about pet care and safety and enjoy this special opportunity to learn from an author.

Our 2nd graders also got hands-on with force and motion alongside our amazing F2S farmer, Courtney, and CLA STEAM teacher, Dr. Hoens! Students used garden tools to prepare the soil and then planted seeds by hand. We can’t wait to watch their garden grow and look forward to a harvest!

Our students also put their math skills to work as they practiced measuring ingredients and following directions while cooking! These hands-on experiences are a wonderful way to connect classroom learning to real-world skills.

And, of course, we ended the week with Dolly Day! 💕 A week full of learning, hands-on experiences, and lots of fun at CLA!

What a fun way to help our neighbors with food insecurity! Check out Second Harvest and all the good they do. We packed 672 boxes which equals 10,080 meals.

If you are interested in volunteering they have options:
1. After school shift once a month (ages 11-22) Next shift is October 19th
2. Regular shifts are 12 and up with an adult present for anyone under 18.

Hand Drawn Poster Contest:
Theme: Soil , Where it All Begins

Poster Contest Rules:

Media: Any traditional media may be used, including paint, crayon, colored pencil, charcoal, stickers, paper, or other materials. Mixed media art is welcome.

Originality: Posters must be created by an individual student—team projects are not permitted. Tracing or copying from photographs or other artists' works is not allowed.

The 2026 Stewardship theme phrase, "Soil. Where it all Begins," must be included in full on the front of each poster to be eligible for the national contest.
While younger students may receive planning assistance from parents or teachers, NACD encourages each student to complete their own work.

Poster Size:
Recommended: 11″ x 17″ 60 lb. paper.

We will accept posters 8.5″ x 11″ or larger.

DUE DATE October 2nd, 2026 to DR. HOENS

Cash Award Prices :
1st place: $50
2nd place: $35

Another great week at Cason Lane filled with learning and celebration!

From indoor recess and hard work in our classrooms to ESL Family Night and a wonderful Chorus performance, it was a full week!

We are also so grateful to our PTO for providing breakfast for our staff to kick off our in-service day and to our community partners who joined us for our staff Community Partner Fair.

So many reasons to be proud of our Chargers. What a great week to be at CLA! ⚡️
