We're having karaoke again at the CPM, but this time with a spooky twist!

Sing the night away on Tuesday, October 27 from 5-8 in the CPM Reading Room. Costumes are welcome, but not required.

We'll be providing free pizza, drinks (Including some ghoulish mocktail concoctions), and candy.

Happy New Music Friday/Friday before Fall Break!

There are some great new releases out today, including the extended version of Carly Rae Jepsen's double album Day and Night, Cardi B's single "Don't Chart" that will be on the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6 soundtrack, and the wistful "blue" by girl in red that marks the beginning of her "girl in blue" era.

There's also Remi Wolf's new LP Mud ; RRRomeo, a collaboration between Mexico City R&B artist Girl Ultra and Canadian electronic duo Chromeo, Pet Shop Boys' new concept album about the life of Alan Turing, and much more!

September was a busy month at the CPM with classes, an open house, and even a songwriter Q&A.

However, our students still found some time to listen to some great records by John Mellencamp and the Dave Brubeck Quartet.

Our October country theme for staff picks continues with the deluxe edition of Bullets in the Gun by Toby Keith from our assistant director, Rachel!

This 2010 album topped the Billboard 200, and two of its singles ("Trailerhood" and "Bullets in the Gun") were certified "Gold" by the RIAA.

The deluxe edition of this album features four live covers of songs by Waylon Jennings, Roger Miller, and Gordon Lightfoot.

A new month means new staff picks!

First up we've got Beyonce's latest studio album Cowboy Carter from our graduate assistant, Jacob.

Released in 2024, Cowboy Carter marked Beyonce's journey into the country and Americana genres. The album features collaborations with Black country artists like Shaboozey, Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, Reyna Roberts, and more.

The LP won 3 Grammy Awards, including Best Country Album, and is already considered a modern classic.

Today, we took the CPM on the road!!

Our audio curator Martin visited our director Charlie Dahan's History of the Recording Industry class and recorded iconic Cajun fiddler, singer, and Louisiana Music Hall of Famer Amanda Shaw to cylinder.

She performed the Dennis McGee Cajun standard “La Danse Carre”.
