Celebrating our Buchanan Transfer Fellows! 💙

Jones College of Business is proud to recognize seven students who have been selected as Buchanan Transfer Fellows, the MTSU Honors College’s highest academic award.

Each year, approximately 30 incoming transfer students entering their junior year are selected for the fellowship based on their academic achievement and application, including a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, college coursework, an essay, a transcript, and letters of recommendation.

The fellowship provides students with scholarship support, funding for study abroad experiences and scholarly projects, priority course registration, and exclusive academic and leadership opportunities.

Congratulations to our Jones College Buchanan Transfer Fellows! We are proud to have you representing the college. 💙

From Tokyo to MTSU! 💌✈️

We were excited to welcome Yasuhiko Haga (Haga-san), an audit partner with Deloitte Tokyo, to campus during his visit to Nashville.

Haga-san kindly hosted MTSU accounting students at Deloitte’s Tokyo offices during their study abroad experience in May. During his visit to campus, he met with Dean Joyce Heames and shared his expertise with accounting students and faculty.

His presentation explored the differences between Japanese and U.S. business cultures and how they influence accounting and auditing practices, along with the opportunities and responsibilities that come with using artificial intelligence in the profession.

Thank you, Haga-san, for sharing your experience and helping our students connect their classroom learning to the global business community!
