Please join us for an online QRISE Center Seminar featuring three short talks on experimental, computational, and theoretical quantum systems research. Dr. Fu Li will discuss quantum sensing, Dr. Abhijit Chakraborty will introduce quantum algorithms, and Dr. John Villanova will share about computations for quantum materials. All three directions are important for the research thrusts of the QRISE Center, and they have overlapping qualities which scientists use to advance new quantum technologies which can have a beneficial impact on our daily lives. The talks will be at a level suitable for those with burgeoning interest in quantum physics, and no quantum mechanics background is necessary!

We are excited to invite students to participate in the Interstate Quantum Hackathon for Beginners 2026, taking place October 22–24, 2026.

Registration closes: October 4, 2026

Online Training:
Oct. 9 & Oct. 16 | 12:00–1:30 PM CDT

Hackathon:
Oct. 22–24, 2026

The hackathon will be hybrid. Students at participating institutions can work together at their local sites and connect across institutions via Zoom. Students from other institutions are equally welcome to register and participate online.

Please join us for an online QRISE Center Seminar featuring an invited speaker on experimental quantum materials research. Dr. Shirin Mozaffari is an Assistant Professor at Clemson University who synthesizes and characterizes systems hosting novel quantum effects. She has worked closely with the national laboratory system in her prior postdoctoral positions at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory and the University of Tennessee Knoxville. She will discuss how electrical transport measurements under high magnetic fields reveal the quantum behavior of some of the most intriguing and promising materials systems.

The annual MTSU Career Fair is on Thursday from 11 am - 3 pm in the rec center.

Every year physics majors get jobs or internships at this event. 90% of the companies will not apply to you, but just keep looking.

Dress up a level and bring copies of your resume if a junior/senior. You don't need a suit or dress, but not old shorts and a graphic T.
