You can love God and still feel unsafe in church spaces.

Your body responds to experience, not beliefs, and that response makes sense after harm.

This isn’t a faith failure.

It’s a trauma response.

Church hurt can show up as anxiety, fear, and hypervigilance. Not because you’re weak, but because your body learned survival in spiritual spaces.

Let's talk about comparison 🤔

There are countless sayings and old proverbs from people that lived hundreds and thousands of years before us, all saying nearly the same thing:

Comparing yourself to others can do nothing but harm. 🤷🏾‍♀️

However, they probably didn't experience the pressure of comparison as much as we do. The rise of social media during this digital era has made it way more difficult not to see how 'green' the grass is on the other side. 👀

In fact, everywhere we look we are constantly bombarded with people doing better, looking better, feeling better, which makes it easy for someone to get discouraged or feel like they’re not as ‘good’.

But there's something important to remember: Nobody started out where you are, and nobody had the same exact factors influencing their journey as you do.

Let me tell you, the grass isn’t greener, it’s just painted rocks, especially here on the gram.

We see all of these people in all of their success and it’s really just snippets of their lives.

Yes, we should cheer for them and yes we can use them as inspiration. But when we start to envy or covet what they have, we are giving our power away.

We have to be about our purpose and do what we have been created to do. That’s how you find fulfillment.

If you’re not living your purpose, go and grab my FREE 5 Day Devotional, send me a DM for the link.

What do you think about comparing and how do you overcome it? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments 👇🏾

You’ve done your best, friend.

Maybe you ate a salad this week.😉
Maybe you completed a big project for work.
Maybe you took some deep breaths and didn’t let that person work your nerves like you have in the past.
Whatever you did, let it be enough. Enjoy your weekend.🩵

If you want to grow in one area of your life, you have to be willing to look at all areas of your life.

Do you agree?

One of the things I love most about Coaching is that there’s always something new to learn (which is a huge reason I decided to be a Spiritual Care Coach in the first place!).

Here are the biggest lessons I’ve learned:

✔️ First, you’ll always be learning. Just when you think you’re done, there will be some new strategy or technique you’ll want to apply! Roll with it!

✔️ Stay committed. Did you reach a new milestone? High five! Now hold on to it. don’t take your foot off the gas. Maintaining what you’ve accomplished is just as important as getting there.

✔️ Find your cheerleaders. Don’t get discouraged or disappointed if your closest friends and loved ones don’t get you or your mission. Just go out and find your squad!

✔️ Focus on you. There will always be someone ahead of you – you know, that person who’s got it all figured out and brilliantly doing what you should be doing. Don’t worry about them, keep your head down and keep going.

✔️ Forgive yourself. When you fall off the wagon or don’t get stuff done the way you want, acknowledge it and move on. There are no absolutes in life, and what you did yesterday does not define today.

What’s the biggest thing you’ve learned from doing what you do?

5 Tips to Spiritual Abuse Prevention

One of the reasons spiritual abuse can be so difficult to recognize is that it often comes wrapped in the guise of religious or spiritual authority.

The abuser may use their position of power to justify their actions and make it seem like they are acting in the best interest of the victim.

They may also use scripture or doctrine to justify their behavior. This can make it hard for victims to speak out and get the support they need.

Here are some ways to identify and protect yourself. You have the gift of discernment… use it♥️
