Most teaching resources are written by people who left the classroom, and it shows in the small stuff.

The lesson plans assume a class that behaves. The PD assumes a prep period that exists. The timing assumes nobody comes in crying about lunch.

I'm still teaching college biology and anatomy this semester, which mostly means I'm still getting things wrong in front of people and fixing them.

The worst part of planning a unit is not the teaching. It's the blank page.
