Keira earned this award by completing steps on her BigFuture dashboard, exploring colleges, planning for her future, and taking proactive steps toward her career goals.

🏆 What is the BigFuture Scholarship?
BigFuture by College Board awards monthly $500 and $40,000 scholarships to students who take small, meaningful actions toward their post-high-school path. It’s free, open to all students, and designed to support their journey to college and career success.

Munster High School is helping students jump start their college journey with dual credit.

Dual Credit Completion: A Big Win for Students
• 90% of the Class of 2025 earned at least 3 dual credits while in high school.
• 71% of seniors completed 15 or more dual credits—that’s the equivalent of one full semester of college before graduation!
• On average, students are leaving Munster High School with 25 dual credits.

• Total credits earned in 2024-2025: 9,132
• Average cost per college credit in Indiana: $300
• Total savings for Munster families this year: $2,739,450
• Over the last 8 years, families have saved: $18.8 million

Why Dual Credit Matters
• Dual credit courses let students earn college credits while still in high school—saving time and money.
• 15 credits = one semester of college. Many Munster students graduate already halfway to sophomore year!
• Indiana College Core (ICC): A special 30-credit block that transfers to all Indiana public colleges and universities. In 2024-2025, Munster ranked 5th in the state for ICC completions
