Today is the big day!

We are so ready to Race to Kindness at our 2026 Elliott Elementary Walk!

Thank you to everyone who has helped us reach our goal of $20,000 and our stretch goal of $25,000! Your kindness and generosity is outstanding. Way to go Eagles!

Here are some important reminders for students and families for tomorrow.

Students should:
- wear good walking shoes with socks
- wear Elliott spirit wear if they have it
- bring a water bottle to the track
- bring a lunch from home, or buy a sack lunch (fun lunch...muffin, yogurt, goldfish crackers, string cheese, apples, carrots) from the school
- have lots of fun!

Families/Spectators should:
- join us in the MHS football stands
- bring signs of encouragement
- cheer on our walkers!

Volunteers should:
- check in with the PTO at the track
- obtain their volunteer/visitor badge

The schedule is as follows:

Walk Schedule

9:15 am: K-2nd graders load Buses at Elliott to head to track (students): K, 1st & 2nd

9:40 - 10:10 am: K, 1st, 2nd graders Walk

9:45 am: 3-5th graders load Buses at Elliott to head to track (students): 3rd, 4th, & 5th

10:20 - 11:10 am: All school events (inflatable race, granny pants, dunk, dance party etc)

11:20 am: K,1st, & 2nd graders load the bus to return to school.

11:20 - 11:50 am: 3rd, 4th & 5th graders Walk

12:00 pm: 3rd, 4th & 5th graders load the bus to return to school.

Students will eat lunch when they get back to Elliott. Our lunch/recess times will be modified just for this day.

We look forward to an absolutely BEAUTIFUL day full of fun and KINDNESS!

Thanks to all our awesome kids and parents who have been feeding Errrnie this week!! If you don’t see him in line, he will be in the office and the kids can take their candy down. Also, if you’d like to volunteer to work a Grrrnie shift before or after school, reach out! It’s pretty fun!

Kindness Walk is THIS WEDNESDAY! Wear your best Elliott spirit wear to show our school spirit! It is going to be a beautiful day! Our Elliott Eagles have really turned up the efforts on spreading kindness and raising money! We are SO close to our stretch goal and only around $2,000 away from what we raised last year! (Which was a record year!) So many people have been sharing their links today, which is paying off! Keep it up Eagles!

Happy National Custodian Day!

Today we’re giving a HUGE shout-out to the amazing custodians at Elliott Elementary!

Our custodians do so much more than keep our school clean (although we are incredibly grateful for that every single day!). They are always there to lend a hand, help us set up and clean up after PTO events, move tables and chairs, get things ready, and jump in whenever we need an extra hand.

So much of what they do happens behind the scenes, but it makes a BIG difference for our students, teachers, staff, and families. We truly appreciate all of the hard work, flexibility, and care you put into making Elliott a wonderful place to be.

Thank you Tim, Alex, Amparo, and Fabian for everything you do for Elliott! We are so lucky to have you!

Fun Fair Ticketing Co-Chair Needed! Help print and sell Fun Fair tickets! This person will work with our treasurer, Shannon Wainwright, to coordinate the printing, selling, and pick up of the tickets for Fun Fair. See flyer for more details. This is a great position for someone wanting to help and get involved who doesn't have a ton of extra time! Reach out to [email protected] with questions or interest!

WE ARE ONE WEEK AWAY FROM THE KINDNESS WALK! We are missing 30% of our students' permission slips! The permission slip is online only, please sign it HERE: https://www.elliottpto.org/kindnesswalkday There will be NO LATE PERMISSION SLIPS accepted. They are due by October 6th by 7pm. If we do not have a permission slip on file for your student, they will not be attending the walk and will be staying at school. Students are taken by bus to Munster High School, so we need permission slips for all students! We still have room for volunteers if you’d like to help on walk day as well. We are SO close to hitting our goal for fundraising, thanks to all of you! There is still time to hit (or exceed!) our goal. Last year we raised $26K! Can we exceed our goal of $20K and hit our number from last year?! Remember, we are trying to get a donation from each state! Here are the states we are missing, if you know anyone from these states, reach out! Even a few dollars helps!
