These wonderful people helped make my dreams possible. My husband for going on this crazy adventure with me. My sons bringing their high energy into the daycare space. My sister Danielle for always sticking by my side even on the hard days. My mom and mother in law always ready to hold a baby or help cook. And for my two extended family members Sharbai and Lainey for being there when I needed you the most. I love ya'll ❤. In home daycare is ALL about the family.

English is not a simple language to teach or learn. There are roughly 44 sounds represented by single letters or a combination of letters. To teach children to read effectively, we need to teach these in a logical and sequential order.

What complicates matters is the fact that single sounds can have multiple spellings. For example:

/s/ sound: -s, -sc, -se, -ce, -ci, -cy, -ps, -st, -ss

Also, many spellings can represent several different sounds. For example:

"ch": /ch/ - chop, /sh/ - chef, /k/ - school
