We’re hosting Tiger Check-in today and Friday. It’s a great way for kids and parents to get ready for the upcoming school year. If you missed it, we’ll be back from 5-7 pm Thursday and 8-11 am on Friday, August 28.

If you're not finished registering for school, a great opportunity is coming up this week!

Don’t miss our School Registration Fair on Thursday, Aug. 27 and Friday, Aug. 28. Parents and guardians can register their students for any District 75 school and Mundelein High School.
It’s also a great opportunity to drop off documents to complete your registration.

The event will be held at Carl Sandburg Middle School’s South Gym (auditorium entrance) from noon to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday and from 8 to 11 a.m. on Friday. Our staff will be on-hand to collect documents and answer any questions you have about school registration.

Hope to see you all at Tiger Check-in on Thursday and Friday, Aug. 27 and 28.

Carl Sandburg students will get their schedules and can check their transportation route/pick-up times. Parents can still drop off documents or register their students and that takes place in the stageatorium. There will be CSMS staff stationed in the MPR to pass out schedules and answer questions.

There will also be an opportunity to register your students for school, or drop off any documents needed to complete registration.

Tiger Check-in is from noon to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday and from 8 to 11 a.m. on Friday. We hope to see you there!

We’re excited to welcome Jason Then as Carl Sandburg’s Interim Assistant Principal for the 2026-27 school year. Then, a resident of Mundelein, will join Dan Bryant, our Interim Principal, to form the leadership at CSMS this year.

“Jason has a lot of experience as a leader and a department chair,” Bryant said. “He’s very caring, very authentic and an active listener. He will be a great addition to our Sandburg team.”

During the past seven years, Then served as an English Language Arts Teacher at Big Hollow Middle School in Ingleside, Mahone Middle School in Kenosha and Wilmot Union High School in Wilmot, Wis. Prior to that, he taught at Salam Middle and High School in Milwaukee.

He gained leadership experience as the English Department Chair at both Wilmot and Salam high schools where he supervised and coached department staff and mentored colleagues on curriculum development and implementation.

Jason earned a Master of Science Degree in Administrative Leadership at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, a Masters Degree in English Education from Alverno College, Milwaukee and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and History from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
