to our special Homeschool Music Group Class for students in Kindergarten through 5th Grade!

🎼 Learning Music Together — Discovering, Creating & Growing!

Our 10-week music program is designed to introduce young students to the wonderful world of music through a combination of music appreciation, history, theory, singing, listening, and practical musical activities.

🎵 WHAT WILL OUR STUDENTS LEARN?

🎹 Music History – Exploring the fascinating story of music and discovering how music developed throughout history.

🎻 The First Musical Instruments – Learning about early instruments, their sounds, and how people began creating music.

🎼 Basic Music Theory & Literacy – Understanding musical notes, symbols, and the foundations of reading music.

🎹 Piano for Beginners – Introduction to the keyboard, basic musical scales, and simple musical patterns.

🎶 Major & Minor Chords – Learning to recognize different musical colors, emotions, and moods.

🎤 Singing & Musical Expression – Exploring how music communicates feelings through different styles, dynamics, and vocal expression.

🥁 Rhythm & Ear Training – Developing listening skills, musical memory, rhythmic accuracy, and recognition of musical patterns.

Our goal is not only to teach music but also to inspire curiosity, creativity, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts!

📚 PERSONALIZED LEARNING MATERIALS

Every student will receive:

🌸 A personalized music folder.

🌸 A special Music Learning Log Book documenting our lessons and educational progress.

🌸 Learning materials and activities for every lesson.

🌸 Practice materials to support learning at home.

All educational materials are included in the registration fee!

Classes will meet every Tuesday from 6:30 PM to 7:15 PM.

💗 IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARENTS

Because this is a structured educational group program, students are expected to follow classroom rules, demonstrate respectful behavior, listen to instructions, and participate cooperatively.

A positive learning environment, appropriate classroom discipline, and mutual respect are essential for everyone's success.

Please note that individual make-up lessons cannot be provided.

This program is organized as a 10-class group learning experience during the second trimester of the school year. Because lessons are planned for the entire group, missed classes cannot be rescheduled or made up individually.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation!

All participating students will receive a beautiful Certificate of Participation during our December 2026 Music Recital!

🎄🎹 The recital date will be announced later.

We look forward to celebrating the children's musical discoveries, progress, dedication, and accomplishments together with their families!

🧡🍁 Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day & Happy Columbus Day! 🍁🧡

Today, a little piece of beautiful Alaska found its way into Stankovic Music Learning Center! 🧡

We organized a lovely little tea party, just for us girls! We enjoyed making beautiful bracelets for ourselves, our friends, and our families, decorating with autumn-themed stickers, and listening to music from an old-fashioned recorder. 🎶🍂☕

We all wore orange as a symbol of our respect, remembrance, and appreciation for Indigenous Peoples, their beautiful cultures, traditions, and heritage. 🧡

For this special occasion, I found a beautiful Athabaskan shirt that reminded me of my unforgettable experiences in Alaska.

The Athabaskan people have a rich cultural heritage in Alaska, including the beautiful Anchorage region and the historic Native village of Eklutna, with more than 800 years of history. This special little village is also home to the beautiful St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, a place that holds a special place in my heart.

And today, something even more precious was with us: a blessing from Matushka St. Olga of Alaska and a little piece of holy Alaskan soil from her grave in Kwethluk, Alaska. ☦️❤️

What a beautiful connection between culture, faith, music, friendship, and the innocence of childhood!

Sometimes, we don't need a big celebration to create precious memories. Just a little tea, music, creativity, friendship, and hearts filled with gratitude.

From our little music studio in Illinois, with love and respect for the Indigenous Peoples of Alaska and all Native communities. 🧡

🍁 May we always teach our children to respect, appreciate, and protect the beautiful cultural heritage of others.

This message reminds us of the children who suffered and lost their lives in the residential school system, while honoring survivors, their families, and their communities.

We believe that every child deserves love, respect, dignity, and the opportunity to grow surrounded by their culture, traditions, and heritage.

On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we continue our small but heartfelt mission to support the recognition, preservation, and celebration of the extraordinary beauty, culture, art, and heritage of Indigenous Peoples.

Our Ksenia will be there too with her Art ♡

ONE WEEK FROM TODAY! Lure of the Local 5 opens Friday, October 16th! 💌

Join us as we celebrate five years of showcasing incredible local artistic talent! We are excited to feature another vibrant and impressive collection of artwork from artists throughout Mundelein and the surrounding communities!

This year’s theme, “Love Letters,” invites artists and audiences to explore the many ways we express love, appreciation, connection, and belonging. Now in its fifth year, this annual exhibition continues to celebrate the incredible talent of local artists while keeping our mission alive: supporting the arts, sparking inspiration, and bringing fresh creativity to the community.

We're returning to the Archer Business Center! You'll find us at 175 N. Archer Avenue in Mundelein, conveniently located next to the Metra station.

✨ Opening Reception: Friday, October 16, 2026, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM! ✨

Following the reception, the exhibition will be open to the public every Saturday and Sunday through November 22, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

This year's exhibition will feature approximately 280 pieces of artwork, along with an exciting lineup of activities, workshops, live performances, and special events throughout the exhibition!
Admission is FREE! There is so much in store this year, with activities happening every weekend! Keep an eye out for announcements highlighting our FREE special events, participating artists, workshops, and generous community sponsors!

Today, Ksenia( 11y) completed her second icon as part of the icon-painting workshop led by Mr. Dražen Dupor.

It has been a beautiful experience—a wonderful process of learning, developing her talent, and growing in the art of iconography. The atmosphere was truly inspiring, and the work was very serious and dedicated, with several hours of painting each day for all three days.

St. Demetrius, welcome to our home. ❤️

🧡 EVERY CHILD MATTERS 🧡

We are deeply honored and proud to share that Stankovic Music Learning Center received special licensing permission to use an Orange Shirt Day / Every Child Matters design on small gifts created to honor Indigenous children and help raise awareness.

Our deepest gratitude goes to the Orange Shirt Day Society and the licensing representatives for Canada and the United States for their trust and permission. We are grateful for the opportunity to respectfully support this important message.

The words “Every Child Matters” carry a powerful meaning. Our design is dedicated to the innocent children who suffered through the residential school system, to those who never returned home, to the Survivors, their families, and the generations whose communities continue to carry this history.

After visiting Alaska twice, I developed a special interest in learning more about Alaska Native peoples, particularly Athabascan communities—their traditions, art, stories, connection to the land, and cultural heritage. Those experiences encouraged me to continue learning, listening, and approaching these cultures with respect.

Through music, art, education, and small acts of remembrance, we can help teach younger generations that Indigenous cultures and heritage deserve to be respected, protected, preserved, and celebrated.

For us, these small gifts are much more than a design. They are a symbol of remembrance, respect, gratitude, and a promise to keep learning.

🧡 Every Child Matters. 🧡 Every story matters. 🧡 Every culture deserves respect.
