The District 120 Board of Education honored MHS Theatre Director Jonathan Meier on Monday with its inaugural “Award of Excellence in Education.” The award recognizes an exceptional staff member who provides opportunities for students based on values spelled out in the Board’s mission statement: Academic excellence for all learners through the core values of equity, growth and collaboration.

Illinois Senator Adriane Johnson (D-Buffalo Grove) presented three MHS students with citizenship awards for their participation in Girls State and donated $1,000 for the MHS Girls State candidates. The donation will underwrite registration fees for students attending this year’s Illini Girls State and will support two students for the 2024 Illini Girls State convocation. We're excited to have our staff back at Mundelein High School getting ready for another school year. Today was our Opening Day program. We were entertained by student choral group Rush Hour and honored MHS Theatre Director with the School Board's inaugural Award of Excellence. We look forward to seeing our students on Wednesday morning!

Don’t forget about our Registration Fair , until 3 p.m. Monday afternoon and again from 5-8 p.m. Monday evening. We’ll open it up for parents to register their students again Tuesday from 8-11 a.m.

This Fair for parents of students in both Elementary District 75 and MHS District 120. Just come over to Carl Sandburg Middle School, 855 W. Hawley Street.

The 2023 Yearbook will be available for pick up in the MHS Payment Center located in the MHS commons starting Monday, August 7. The Payment Center hours are Monday-Friday from 7:30 to 11:15 a.m. and from 12:15 to 3:30 p.m.

If you haven’t registered your child for school yet, please take advantage of the Registration Fair on Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 7 and 8. This is for all levels of school in both District 75 and MHS District 120 - preschool through high school.

Of course, you may register online. But if you need help with the process, or need to drop off documents, we’ll be happy to serve you at the Fair.

The event will be held at Carl Sandburg Middle School, 855 W. Hawley Street on Monday from 8-11 a.m., noon-3 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. On Tuesday, the Fair runs from 8-11 a.m.

The winning team from MHS Incubator Pitch Night, Safe Sip, will be one of five national finalists presenting at the Incubator National Pitch Competition in Chicago next Tuesday, July 11 from 4– 6 p.m.
