PM:

Hi families! We were so happy to see everyone back after a long weekend!

For the next two weeks, we will be learning all about Colors & Shapes.

Today we celebrated a birthday! Happy Birthday to our newest 4 year old! Today we sang "Happy Birthday", played a birthday game where the birthday boy's picture was hiding behind one of the colored cupcakes, and the birthday boy passed out gifts to his friends he brought from home! What a great way to start our day!!! 🥳

We also had a new student start today! We learned his favorite color is green, he likes the Grinch, and he is really excited to play with all of the car toys in the classroom! 🚘

Calendar Time:
🎨 Letter of the Week: A
🎨 Number of the Week: 2
🎨 Weather Report: Cloudy....then it changed to rainy!

Large Group:
🔴 Our music helper picked "Shake Your Sillies Out"
🔴 We read "Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes".
🔴 After the story, we played "What color did Pete's shoes turn?" I held up pictures of different food items. Students practiced raising their hand to show they wanted a turn to tell Mrs. Bean what color his shoe would turn if he stepped in that food! Then the student picked came up and found the matching shoe color and listened to directions for where to put the shoe (on top/under/next to) in relation to the food.

Small Groups:
🔶Made bracelets by using fine motor skills to lace pony beads onto a pipe cleaner. Students practiced identify colors as they went!
🔶Identified the letter "A" using their dot markers on a spot and dot letter A page.
🔶Independent Table: Used magnatiles to build!

Have a great rest of your night, everyone!
