Been absent for a bit, being a working mom with 3 kids while simultaneously navigating a household under sweat equity renovation has its tax!

On a debatable topic pertaining to the recent vaccine buzz and government involvement. When it comes to decision making on protecting your children for the future, I encourage anyone who is uncertain on the best course of action for your children, it is okay to research your option.

That being said, I also encourage validating your sources with the research being peer reviewed EVIDENCE BASED PRACTICE. Social media groups especially tend to gravitate towards unsubstantiated claims and, “go with your gut.” If those who are promoting their claims are a charlatan, with the poise to promote a following, what are we doing for our children of the future when viruses that have been eradicated are now circulating again?

In many cases, these infant deaths may have been avoidable through the routine vitamin K injection long recommended for newborns to support healthy blood clotting. Yet an increasing number of parents across the country are choosing to decline the low-cost shot administered shortly after birth.

Often, these decisions stem from a sincere desire to shield newborns from perceived unnecessary medical procedures. However, in rejecting this well-established preventive treatment, some families are influenced by widespread misinformation amplified through social media, despite strong scientific evidence supporting the safety and effectiveness of vitamin K administration.

People like to argue, “well these weren’t given to children in older times, so why do we need to do it now?”

Let’s talk about infant survival rates before evidence based practice was implemented for many interventions. 🤔
