Ever wondered what it’s really like to study abroad? Our student worker Audrey Wallen, a senior in Political Science, is sharing her journey from Ball State to Chengdu, China! In her first blog post, she reflects on the excitement, nerves, and preparations that led her to take this life-changing leap.

From picking the right program to travel tips and pre-departure prep, Audrey’s got insights for anyone dreaming of studying abroad but unsure where to start. Follow along as she navigates life in the Giant Panda capital of the world!

"I have been absolutely loving St. Croix! I feel like I have not dealt with any culture shock personally, but I adapt to new situations extremely quickly because I am a go-with-the-flow type of person. I only have classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so it has allowed me to spend much of my time exploring the island. My biggest low was dealing with bed bugs, and one of my biggest highs was being offered free horseback riding tours because I met the owner of the company at a coffee shop."
