Teachers College alum Trey Moses (BS ’19) is making a lasting impact on and off the court.

After facing his own mental health challenges as a student-athlete and experiencing the loss of a close friend and teammate to su***de, Trey founded 24 Reasons, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting student-athlete mental health and su***de prevention.

Now a professional basketball player, Trey continues to use his platform to encourage important conversations, support young athletes, and remind others that they are never alone.

On Saturday, June 20, Trey will host the third annual “Be the Reason” Celebrity Basketball Game at 6 p.m. at Jeffersontown High School in Louisville, Kentucky. The event brings the community together around a topic that affects countless student-athletes and families.

We're proud to celebrate the work Trey is doing and the lives he continues to impact through his advocacy.

Fun Fact Friday - Student Edition

This week we're featuring Mackenzie McCollum, a sophomore studying Family and Child in the Ball State Department of Early Childhood, Youth, and Family Studies.
Her fun fact? She has two horses!

The photos she shared show just how special her horses are to her. We always enjoy learning about the interests and experiences that make our Teachers College students unique.

Congratulations to the Teachers College-connected students who were recognized during the The Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County, Inc.'s 2026 scholarship season!

Among this year's recipients are Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities graduates Neela Cormier-Marri and Henry Godfrey, as well as Burris Laboratory School graduates Noble Holland, Sydney Jackson, and Ella Long. Noble will be attending Ball State University to study Special Education.

We're also excited to celebrate future Teachers College students Lillyana Ray, Sariah Rigor, and Grace Walker. Lillyana plans to major in Special Education, while Sariah and Grace will pursue Elementary Education.

TOP 100 STUDENT SPOTLIGHT

We’re continuing our series highlighting outstanding Teachers College and secondary education students from Ball State University who have been recognized as Top 100 Students.

Meet Elizabeth Frame, a recent graduate in the Ball State University, Department of Elementary Education with a concentration in Reading and Language Arts.

Elizabeth has dreamed of becoming a teacher since she was a child, and that dream is now becoming a reality. This fall, she'll begin her career as a third-grade teacher at West Newton Elementary School in Decatur Township after completing a yearlong residency experience that allowed her to spend an entire school year with the same classroom of students.

Elizabeth also hopes to continue her education by pursuing a master's degree in Educational Administration and Supervision.

Fun Fact Friday — Student Edition!

This week we're featuring Emily Adams, a recent May 2026 graduate with dual majors in Elementary Education and Special Education.

Emily discovered her love of crocheting while at Ball State. After a dear friend welcomed a son, she taught herself how to crochet so she could make him a blanket, and it's safe to say she was hooked!

Since then, she's taken on all kinds of projects, including sweaters, scarves, blankets, cardigans, stockings, and more. Her favorite creations are practical items that can be used every day.

We're impressed by both her creativity and dedication to learning new skills!

Faith is a self-proclaimed hobby enthusiast! She recently completed her second mini marathon, loves baking sourdough, enjoys checking out new coffee shops, and loves to travel.

She’s also a firm believer in doing things simply because they bring joy, not just because you’re good at them.

From competing on the Ball State Soccer Team to coaching middle school soccer and student teaching in local schools, Alex is passionate about helping students build lifelong habits centered around fitness and health.

Alex hopes to become a Physical Education teacher in the Yorktown School District after graduation, and she’s already made an impact in the classroom and community.
