For more than 40 years, Dixie Denton has been changing lives through education, and now she’s being recognized for it.
As Ball State’s nominee for the 2026 MAC Outstanding Faculty Award for Student Success, Denton has spent decades building meaningful connections with students, helping future educators grow with confidence, purpose, and support.
From early field experiences to lifelong mentorship, her impact reaches far beyond the classroom, and into the careers of countless teachers.

EDEL-O in London:
Our group of 5 BSU students will travel across the pond to London, England, for 5 weeks in June 2025 to study the educational systems of the United Kingdom. One of the things we’re most excited to do is observe and learn comparative educational insights through 8 days of practicum in a British Primary School. While we’re there, we’ll have the chance to experience British customs and culture through visiting immersive historical sights and museums.
