Congratulations to the Ball State Public Relations team on their 3rd place win in the national Arthur W 2020 Case Study Competition (https://page.org/study_competitions). Junior PR major Melissa Kraman, graduate student Rebecca Schriner and Director of Public Relations Dr. YoungAh Lee’s case study on Southwest Airlines placed 3rd out of 34 submissions among schools like the University of Notre Dame, University of Florida and Boston University.
“This is such an honor,” said Schriner. “Being the first Ball State team to place in this competition has been so encouraging, and our Department of Journalism faculty and colleagues have been so supportive throughout this process, especially Dr. Lee. We couldn’t have done this without them.” Kraman agreed. "This win is a testament to the exceptional professors, student and opportunities within the Department of Journalism and the PR Graduate Program," she said. "Ball State is the perfect place to work hard, challenge yourself and collaborate with the best in the industry. This recognition is yet another rewarding part of the experience."
We are excited for these young professionals and proud of their accomplishment. The Page Society is one of the leading professional associations for public relations and corporate communications executives and educators.

A few weeks ago at the 24th Annual Student Symposium, graduate student Breanna Daugherty was one of the winners of the Keys/Litten/Smith Award, which recognizes students for their outstanding research or creative endeavors.
Daugherty's poster board presentation was on her Master's thesis "Video attention on social media." Her presentation depicts a heat map, in the center, with a secondary focus on a gaze plot, which assisted her in understanding eye tracking data.
