Our very own Alena is the perfect example of practicing what she preaches! The SEP program was able to support Alena in her last recital at Ball State this weekend. We are so proud of her and all of her hard work that has gone into piano performance throughout her years. Alena is such a gift to our program and it was the best night celebrating her! 🎹

Alena Miskinis won the 3min thesis competition! This competition is a university-wide event where master’s and doctoral students present their research in an engaging way to a non-specialist audience in just three minutes in front of a panel of judges. Congrats Alena!

We wrapped up the semester with the annual Holiday party! It was a great night with good food, fun games, and spending time with each other outside of the classroom. Happy Holidays!

We had a great time at AASP in Montreal! We had 5 students attending and a total of 6 presentations from current or recently graduated students. It was great catching up with alumni and presenting about our program too!

We kicked off the Fall semester with Program Olympics! A day full of connecting after summer break, welcoming in the first year cohort, and playing games such as tug of war, egg-and-spoon race, three-legged relay, and more! A trophy was given to the winning team 🏆. Excited for the semester ahead!

We’re so proud of all of our 2025 SEP graduates! They’re all off to do great things, but we’ll miss them!
Earlier this month, Dr. Lebeau raced in the Dash and Splash duck race on One Ball State Day! He brought home 1st place which earned a donation to our Henschen fund. The Henschen fund provides our SEP students the opportunity to travel to conferences throughout the year! In addition, we received 28 donations to our program on One Ball State. Thank you to everyone who donated!
