Huffer Yellow On My Way Pre K

I just want to start off by saying how much these kiddos mean to me! They have helped me grow as a teacher and have taught me so much this summer. Since I am going back to school starting Monday I will not be with them near as much. I truly can’t thank these kids and their families enough for allowing me to be their child’s teacher. I hope that they enjoyed their gifts. It all came from my heart. I’m so proud to see how much each of them have grown and learned this summer. These kids are going places in life. I have no doubt about it. ❣️

Yesterday we had a visitor. Miss Gabby’s mother (Miss Jen) came to visit and talked to the children about being a nurse for babies. With Miss Jen we set up our own nursery and took care of babies.

Monday we discussed the community helper of custodian and made a thank you card for our Huffer custodians.

Here’s pictures from today and yesterday! Today we painted and cleaned one of our tables and made our own constructions using shaving cream as mortar. It was a messy and fun time!

On Tuesday we had our water day as well as a visit from two hairdressers at Hot Heads Hair Salon. They discussed what their job was, showed the children tools they use, and helped the children put yarn onto coloring pages of teenage mutant ninja turtles to give them “hair”. The children loved the visitors!

The next two weeks we will be talking about community helpers and the people that work in our community. We had two very special visitors who talked to us about their jobs as a post office supervisor (Miss. Niki) and a 6th grade social studies teacher (Miss. Brittani). Miss. Niki taught us about writing letters, stamps, mail trucks, and the post office. Miss. Brittani talked about what history means and she even showed the children old money that was used in the past. The children had so much fun and learned a lot!

Here’s pictures from the last two days! We played with sand foam, made our own oceans on foil with paint and glitter, and had a blast playing in dramatic play and blocks. The children told us they were making a “farmhouse.” Have a cool and safe weekend!

Today we talked about jellyfish! The kids were then able to make their own. They had a blast!

Here are so fun pictures from today! We ran through a sprinkler for water day and created our own ocean coral pictures by blowing air through straws dipped in paint. Happy Tuesday!

The kids loved learning about the ocean last week, so we decided to do another full week continuing learning about the ocean. The kids had so much fun using sea shells to paint with. Each of their paintings were very unique. 😊

This week we are talking about the ocean! The kids had so much fun with the ocean-themed activities that we did today. We turned dollhouse into a beach, we put sand and seashells in the sensory table, and we made our own fish using tissue paper and glue. The kids have had so much fun today!

Our day was filled with water, jumping on mats, making a card, and playing in the classroom! What a terrific Tuesday!
