In honor of Healthcare Simulation Week, we will be spotlighting our simulationists each day!

Meet Rachelle Fuller & Grant Witty!

Rachelle will have worked as a Clinical Laboratory Specialist for the School of Nursing for 7 years, as of October 28. Her clinical background is outpatient pediatrics and inpatient OB. Rachelle enjoyed pouring into mothers navigating newborn care and being a calming and playful presence for pediatric patients. Rachelle now enjoys being that presence for our faculty and students in simulation!

Grant has worked in the School of Nursing serving as a Nursing Support Technician for 6 months, as of September 23. In the last several months he has been introduced and immersed into various simulation experiences and fidelities. He enjoys supporting VR simulation and observing students as they work to stabilize patients as a team.

In honor of Healthcare Simulation Week, we will be spotlighting our simulationists each day!

Meet Ben Armstrong & Allison Ottinger!

Ben has worked in the School of Nursing serving as a Technology Specialist for 2 years and has supported technology needs at BSU for 22 (July 6). In the last two years he has learned so much about simulation technologies, operations, and experiential student learning.

Allison has worked as a full-time Clinical Laboratory Specialist for the School of Nursing for 17 years, as of August 1. She worked a year prior to that in a temporary position, covering a maternity leave. Her clinical background is cardiac progressive care, managing multiple patients with critical illness. She is an expert at all things simulation!

Meet Becky Fights & Britain Bryant!

Becky has worked as a Clinical Laboratory Specialist with the School of Nursing for 17 years (September 14). Her clinical background includes pediatrics and perioperative care, and she is an expert simulationist.

Britain has worked in the School of Nursing serving as a Senior Technology Specialist/Analyst for 19 years (September 13). He has applied knowledge of technology into the world of simulation operating simulators, Virtual Reality, and more.

Practicing interview skills for clients with mental health concerns can be very intimidating. Our NUR 350 students take the opportunity to practice interview techniques with static manikins. A simulated participant waits in the control room to answer questions using microphones that send the audio into the interview space, enhancing fidelity of the experience.
