Dr. Williams received her bachelor's degree in 1984 from BSU, MS degree from University of St Francis, and an MA and EdD from Indiana Wesleyan University. Currently serving as National Senior Director of Nursing Quality for Ascension, Dr. Williams leads initiatives impacting more than 140 hospitals and 48,000 nurses nationwide. Her remarkable career spans top healthcare systems, where she has advanced patient safety, nursing engagement, Magnet recognition, and clinical excellence—all grounded in a strong commitment to service and faith-based leadership. For We Fly Friday, we will be recognizing our 3 Outstanding Alumni award recipients. First up is our Emerging Outstanding Alumni, Erika Breivogel, RN. Erika is a 2014 graduate of the BSU School of Nursing. She currently serves at IU Health Methodist in the Multi-Specialty Critical Care Unit and has assumed numerous leadership roles. Erika is a Daisy Award recipient, Distinguished Nurse Program honoree, AACN scholarship recipient, keynote speaker, podcast contributor, and nationally recognized presenter on ICU delirium and critical care practice.
