Join us for Open House on Tuesday, August 25! 💜💛

As part of our Back to the Basics initiative, our first priority is Parents as Partners! We believe student success is strongest when families and schools work together.

Open House is a great way to begin that partnership! You’ll have the opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher(s), learn about their classes and academic expectations, and find out how you can stay involved and invested in your child’s education throughout the year.

📚 ATTENDANCE MATTERS: EVERY BULLDOG. EVERY DAY. 🐾💜💛

As we work toward The Gold Standard in Attendance, we want families to be aware of a few important attendance requirements:

⭐ Students are expected to attend school every day. Regular attendance is essential for academic success and is required by Texas law.

⏰ Official attendance is taken daily at 9:00 a.m.

📝 After an absence: Parents must provide an explanation when the student returns to school. Please remember that a parent note does not automatically make an absence excused.— click on the button “Report An Absence” that is found homepage of the MISD website or email your documentation to [email protected]

🩺 Illness: If a student misses more than 3 consecutive days due to illness, a statement from a doctor or health clinic must be provided within 3 days of returning to school.

⚠️ Unexcused absences add up. When a student has 3 or more unexcused absences the district will begin attendance intervention procedures. Additional unexcused absences may result in further action under Texas compulsory attendance law.

🎓 Attendance also impacts course credit. Students generally must attend at least 90% of the days a class is offered to receive credit or a final grade.

💜 Our campus goal is 97% attendance—and we want Mullin ISD to have the BEST attendance in Mills County!

Parents are one of our most important partners in making that happen. When students are healthy and able to be at school, we need them here!
