🎓 Throwback Thursday! 📸

Before I was helping students navigate the college process, I was a high school senior standing right where they are today—with a lot of excitement, a few nerves, and so many possibilities ahead. 💛

Looking back at this photo, I never could have imagined where that journey would take me: a career in higher education, years of working with students, and eventually creating Bright Beginnings College Coaching to help students find their own path to college and beyond.

It’s pretty special to think that the girl in this picture had no idea she would one day make helping students achieve their college dreams such a big part of her life. ✨

The college process can feel overwhelming. You don't have to navigate it alone. 🎓

One of my favorite parts of being a college coach is helping students and families turn a process that can feel big, confusing, and stressful into a clear, manageable plan.

Every student is different—and there is no one-size-fits-all approach. My goal is to help each student find colleges where they can truly thrive, while helping families feel confident every step of the way. 💙

📣 RISING SENIORS: Thinking about submitting SAT scores with your college applications?

Now is the time to make your testing plan! 📝🎓

Here are the Fall 2026 SAT dates:

📅 September 12
📅 October 3
📅 November 7
📅 December 5

👉 How to register:
Create or log into your College Board account and register for the SAT through the SAT Suite of Assessments website. When you register, you'll select your test date and an available testing location.

💡 My advice: Don't wait until application deadlines are approaching to think about testing! If you're planning to submit SAT scores, give yourself enough time to take the test, receive your scores, and—if needed—take it again.

☀️ A summer reminder for rising seniors: You do NOT need to have your entire college future figured out right now.

You don't need a perfect college list.

You don't need to know exactly what you want to major in.

You don't need to have your essay finished.

And you definitely don't need to compare your progress to everyone else's.

What you should be doing this summer is taking small, intentional steps. 👣 Message me to learn what YOU can do this summer to tackle your college search process with confidence! 🌟

😩 When someone asks, "So…where do you want to go to college?"

Ummm…can we talk about the fact that there are THOUSANDS of colleges to choose from?!

And somehow, you're supposed to figure out which one is the best fit while considering:

📚 Majors & academic programs
💰 Cost & financial aid
📍 Location
🏫 Campus size
👩‍🏫 Class sizes & academics
🏆 Athletics & activities
🎭 Social life
🌆 College town vs. big city
🌡️ Weather
🏠 Housing
…and about a million other things!

No wonder students feel overwhelmed! 🤯

The truth is, there is no single "best college." There is only the best college for YOU—and finding that fit takes time, reflection, and a thoughtful strategy.

My job is to help students take all of those factors swirling around in their heads and turn them into a college list that actually makes sense for them. 💛

🎓 Summer is the perfect time to visit colleges!

If you're traveling this summer, see if there's a college nearby. Even if it's not on your list, every campus visit helps you figure out what feels like the right fit.

As you walk around, ask yourself:
🏫 Can I picture myself here?
📚 Does the campus feel the right size?
🌳 Do I like the overall atmosphere?
😊 Can I imagine calling this place home for four years?

Remember—you don't have to have all the answers after one visit. Every campus teaches you something about what you're looking for.
