Born in Memphis, TN, Anthony became steeped in the “Memphis Sound” at an early age shaping his style after such soulful drummers as Al Jackson Jr from Stax and “Pistol” from Motown. Anthony was frequently playing, or watching his influences play at STAX records, Ardent studios and Sun studios.
