This is a constant when you work an early childhood.

Please stop quizzing children. It is irrelevant and undermining to children’a developing sense of becoming learners.

Our children learn how to care by being cared for, through patience, gentleness, and shared time together.

Whether it's rescuing a ladybird, sharing a picnic blanket, or being listened to with full attention…it all counts.

🎶There's Sunday and there's Monday
There's Tuesday and there's Wednesday
There's Thursday and there's Friday
and then there's Saturday 🎶

It is good practice to always question our WHYs.

I am always keeping tabs on everything I expect children to do as part of our routine.

Here are the questions I constantly ask myself:

Who is this for?
Do I need to direct this OR will it happen organically, WITHOUT me leading, if I am patient?
Who does this empower?
Who needs to be empowered?
Is this worthy of a child's time?
Am I listening to the children?

In the report they concluded that Common Core reading requirements for kindergarten are inappropriate and not well-grounded in research.
