Recently, five members attended the FCCLA Fall Leadership meeting in Springfield. Members who attended were; Makenzie White, Kloee Dial, Kylee Snearly, Mabry Metzger, and Makenna Beck.

Along with many area members, we learned about the chosen community service project: The Special Olympics. We got to hear about the different ways we could help serve the needs of The Special Olympics and we are excited to get started!
Next, we heard from Speaker Patty Hendrickson on Leadership. Members participated in many activities, like talking to members they did not know 😮, to help improve their leadership skills!
It was a great day and we are so glad we get to take these opportunities to make us better students and citizens!

Last week, five members attended the Illinois State FCCLA Conference in Springfield. We were able to take the pop tabs from our collection over the last few months for the Ronald McDonald House! Thank you to everyone who helped with the collection, check out the two big garbage bags of tabs!!
We had two members compete at the state level. Max Taylor in charcuterie and Adyson Lowrance in cookie decorating. Although neither placed, they both did a great job! Unfortunately, we weren’t able to watch Max compete, so not many pictures from his competition. We had a great day networking and competing!

Recently, 12 members attended the Section FCCLA meeting in Mt. Pulaski. We took all the donations made to the Ronald McDonald House. Thank you to everyone that made donations, we had several!

Members heard from keynote speaker, Denise Talcott. Denise spoke on leadership and fueling our confidence. They also attended workshops for self-defense, Trade Skill/DIY, Job Interview STAR event, Life lessons/words of wisdom, Mental Health, and Lead with Confidence.

We also had 3 competitors present their event. Unfortunately, we could not get pictures as spectators are not allowed during competition.

They all did fantastic and they ALL qualified for the state competition coming up in April!

Overall, a great day was had by all!!
