🎤✨ Congratulations to our Oration Finalists!

We are proud to recognize Kaylee Bawel, Addie Schmucker, Josiah Stone, Parker Funk, Jeffrey Painter, Julia Keiser, Liam Romanyuk, Prestyn Kreider, Samantha Painter, Ainsley Scott, Isaac Humbert, Lilly Mallon, Anita Ye, Matthew Pattison, Emma Landis, Evy Mellinger, Ariel Momcilovich, Providence Painter, Jake Jarkowsky, and Abigail Strabel! 👏

The Oration process is challenging—and intentionally so. As a hallmark of the Principle Approach®, it is one of the many ways a Dayspring education equips students to do more than simply know what they believe. Students learn to reason from Scripture, develop a well-supported position, communicate it effectively in writing, and then present it before an audience with confidence, poise, and eloquence.

The goal reaches far beyond becoming a skilled public speaker. We desire our students to be prepared to articulate and defend a biblical worldview while pointing others toward the truth of God’s Word.

As 1 Peter 3:15 reminds us, believers should always be ready to give an account for the hope that is within them, doing so “with gentleness and reverence.”

Orations are one tangible example of that preparation—and we are incredibly proud of every student who has embraced the challenge this year.

🎉 Congratulations to our finalists on this outstanding accomplishment!

Dayspring’s senior U.S. Government students traveled to Harrisburg to participate in the Pennsylvania March for Life, putting their classroom learning into action through peaceful civic engagement.

As a Christian school, Dayspring teaches that every human life is created by God, bears His image, and has value from conception to natural death. Our students had the opportunity to publicly stand for those convictions and advocate for the sanctity of human life in accordance with God’s Word.

Experiences like this also give students an opportunity to exercise and better understand the freedoms and responsibilities of citizenship—including the right to peaceably assemble and petition the government.

We are grateful to see our students thoughtfully engaging with their government, standing firmly on biblical convictions, and learning what it means to communicate those convictions with courage and respect. 💙❤️

💦 Today was Dunk Tank Day at Dayspring! 🎯

Each year during our Upper School Retreat, students are divided into six teams and spend two days competing in games and activities to earn points. And while friendly competition is always fun, there are some pretty great prizes waiting at the finish line!

🍕 The first-place team earns a pizza party and dress-down day
🍦 The second-place team earns an ice cream party
💦 And the top three teams each get to choose a teacher for the annual dunk tank!

Today, our students took a break from their studies to enjoy the reward they had been waiting for—the chance to send their chosen teachers splashing into the dunk tank! 😂

It’s always a fun way to bring a little Upper School Retreat competition back to school and create some great memories together.

Congratulations to our winning teams—and thank you to our teachers for being such good sports! 💙❤️
