Although the school year came to a close a few weeks ago, we're still smiling as we look back on an incredible 2025–2026 school year!

From the first day of school to the last day of celebrations, our students learned, grew, explored, performed, competed, created, and made memories that will last a lifetime. Whether it was discovering new passions in our specialist classes, cheering on classmates at athletic events, performing on stage, embarking on unforgettable class trips, or celebrating milestones together, this year was filled with moments that reminded us what makes the Brighton community so special.

To our students, families, faculty, and staff- thank you for making this year one to remember. We hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful summer, and we can't wait to welcome both familiar and new faces back this fall!

Innovation in action! Our 4th graders became renewable energy engineers as they explored wind, hydro, and solar power and then designed inventions powered by clean energy.

Students researched energy use in the U.S., studied real-world products, completed market research, sketched detailed diagrams, built models, and even filled out mock patent applications for their creations. Today they hosted a Renewable Energy Fair to show off their incredible creations and prototypes. From brainstorming to prototyping, these young inventors showed creativity, problem-solving, and big ideas for a sustainable future!

Our 8th Graders have officially wrapped up an unforgettable 10-day East Coast adventure! From exploring the rich history of cities like Washington DC, Philadelphia, New York, and Boston to creating lifelong memories with classmates. This trip was packed with learning and fun.

Students had the opportunity to visit historic sites and landmarks that brought classroom lessons to life, while also enjoying memorable experiences like seeing a Broadway show and attending a Boston Red Sox game.

One of the most meaningful moments of the trip was when our students were selected to participate in the wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier- an experience our students will undoubtedly remember for the years to come.

The trip was full of unforgettable memories and was the perfect way for our Class of 2026 to spend some of their final weeks together!

Happy Art Show Week! Our hallways have once again transformed into a beautiful celebration of creativity, imagination, and student expression.

Each year, our Art Specialist, Ms. Eve, leads our K–5 students in exploring the lives and artwork of famous artists. Throughout the year, students create their own masterpieces inspired by these artistic styles and influences. Meanwhile, our middle school art elective students spent their class time exploring a variety of mediums through both collaborative and independent projects.

From vibrant paintings and detailed drawings to mixed media creations, clay sculptures, and more, each piece reflects the individuality and creativity of our students. Artwork will be displayed throughout the week, so be sure to stop by and enjoy the incredible work of our talented student artists!

Our K–2 Spring Music & Drama Showcase was such a joy this morning! Our students took the stage with confidence and creativity, proudly showing all they’ve been working on in their Music and Drama specialist classes.

Kindergarten kicked things off by reciting short poems before performing their song “Clap, Stomp, Groove,” showcasing their new skills in body percussion.

First grade impressed us with their musical talents on the glockenspiels, followed by one of our favorite drama games- 10 Second Objects- which brought lots of laughter and imagination to the stage.

Second grade wrapped up the morning with their very own incredible renditions of “Fairy Tale in a Minute,” before a grand finale performance of “Lean on Me” using boomwhacker sticks that had everyone smiling.

We are so proud of the courage and enthusiasm each student brought to the stage and it was a beautiful celebration of their hard work and growth. Thank you to our families for joining us and supporting our students, and a HUGE thank you to our teachers, Ms. Victoria and Mr. DC, for their leadership in bringing this performance to life!

It’s one of our favorite days of the year- BoxCar Day!

Throughout the month of March, our Pre-K students dive into a transportation study. Their final, culminating project challenges students and their families to transform an ordinary cardboard box into a car (or any form of transportation they can imagine!) Every year, we are completely blown away by the creativity, innovation, and care that go into each and every creation.

All of that hard work leads up to BoxCar Day- a special time for students to showcase what they’ve learned and proudly show off their vehicles. Our gym is transformed into a BoxCar arena, complete with interactive stations and games for our young drivers.

The day begins with a driver’s test, where students demonstrate their knowledge of the rules of the road. Once they’ve earned their license and key, they head off to play an exciting round of Red Light, Green Light. After putting their cars to the test, it’s time for a trip through the car wash! Throughout the day, students can stop by the gas station to refuel, and we even have a fully functioning mechanic shop available for any quick repairs.
We end the day with a cozy drive-in movie in the gym, complete with a popcorn snack

BoxCar Day is one of our longest-standing traditions and a truly memorable experience for all Brighton students. Our middle schoolers- who play a key role in helping bring the day to life-shared fond memories of their own BoxCar Days throughout the morning, making the celebration even more special.

A huge shout-out to our Pre-K teaching team, our middle school helpers, and of course our students and families for all the effort and creativity that made today “the best day of Pre-K ever!”- as one of our students put it.

Brighton loves a holiday, and St. Patrick’s Day is no exception!

Thanks to a few mischievous leprechauns on campus, the day was filled with laughter, creativity, and just the right amount of shenanigans.

Our Preschool and Pre-K students arrived to find green leprechaun footprints in their classrooms and celebrated with festive fun and special treats.

Kindergarten students put their creativity to work building leprechaun traps, while First Grade enjoyed a taste test of all things green.

Third Grade marked both the holiday and the end of their measurement unit by using their fraction skills to bake cookies—learning never tasted so good!

Our Middle School students headed to Green Lake for a field trip, enjoying time together while exploring a new part of Seattle.

We loved celebrating the day across campus with so much joy and school spirit!
