Studio Recital: At Home Edition 05/20/2022

Hello, FB friends. Apparently, I haven't posted in awhile! So... I will share some recital links that should have been posted long ago. First up, our first ever "At Home" Studio Recital. Enjoy!

Crusell 11/18 02/15/2021

I am feeling so nostalgic for our bi-annual live recitals. It is hard to believe that the last one was over a year ago!

Our studio currently has an exceptional group of musicians, several of whom will be graduating in the spring. I truly hope that we will be able to come up with a plan for a live concert before they head to college. They deserve to be heard and celebrated!

I am so proud of everyone for continuing to work hard during a time where motivation can be fleeting. Right now, everyone is in the process of recording unaccompanied works for our upcoming Winter Studio Showcase. We look forward to sharing some music with you soon!

In the meantime, Jackson gave me permission to share a lovely performance from a recording session he did awhile ago for his college applications. Enjoy!

Clarinetist Anthony McGill Kneels, Pleads And Plays For Justice 06/04/2020

I have always had immense respect and admiration for Anthony McGill as a musician and human. I attended a summer camp with him long ago. He is now the fantastic principal clarinetist of the NY Philharmonic, and was the first African American to hold a principal chair in that orchestra.

His initiative is inspiring some of the most touching responses. I urge you to follow him on FB.

Clarinetist Anthony McGill Kneels, Pleads And Plays For Justice With the help of a few "wrong" notes, the principal clarinetist of the New York Philharmonic turned "America the Beautiful" into a solemn protest of police violence.

A Bolero from New York Faced with the uncertainty and tragedy resulting from the rapid spread of COVID-19 through NYC, we, the musicians of the New York Philharmonic, came together...
