✨CSMA is excited that Tateuchi Hall will be a performance venue in the inaugural season of the Arts from Japan concert series!

🎹Hear acclaimed pianist Kotaro Fukuma perform "Shimmering Water" at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2026. Tickets are $45, but you can get $15 off with code JSNCLC26.

The concert traces water’s shimmer across two centuries of piano repertoire, from Mendelssohn’s Gondellied and Debussy’s Cathédrale engloutie to Fukuma's own transcriptions of Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde and Smetana’s The Moldau. A First Prize winner at the Cleveland International Piano Competition, Fukuma brings virtuosity and depth to this rare Bay Area appearance.

The program will help audiences “encounter brilliant artistry from Japan in venues throughout the Bay Area,” said Director John S. Robinson.
