The Board of Trustees was happy to recognize teacher Shaye Dillon and the students of Crittenden Middle School’s Mock Trial Team at the meeting this evening. 💙 💛 🐈⬛
In its very first season, this remarkable team exceeded all expectations, advancing to the California Mock Trial Junior Division Finals at UCLA—a testament to the students’ hard work, dedication, and teamwork. At UCLA, they won a verdict in round one and three individual awards—two Outstanding Witnesses, and one for Outstanding Defense Attorney.
We are delighted to welcome them this evening and celebrate their success.

Pardon our Dust!
This summer, there will be construction from June 6 to August 11 on many of our campuses. These upgrades will increase school safety and efficiency by replacing aging roofs. Additionally, nature-based outdoor learning areas will be constructed at many sites for student learning and play. For details about what is happening at each campus: https://www.mvwsd.org/construction
Please be aware that portions of the campuses will be off-limits where work is occurring and materials are staged.
Thanks to our community, these improvements are the result of 2020’s Measure T bond dollars at work. We appreciate your patience with construction as we work to upgrade our schools.

Graham's 8th graders gathered at Eagle Park to celebrate the end of a wonderful chapter!
Students enjoyed a spread of food, snacks, and desserts, soaked up the beautiful weather, played sports in the field, and took photos at the graduation photo backdrop.
As they prepare to make the move to high school, we want them to know how proud and excited we are! Congrats, Bears!

As we observe Memorial Day, we would like to take a moment to reflect on the meaning of this important national holiday. Memorial Day is a time to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives while serving in the United States Armed Forces. We are grateful for their service.

Castro is wrapping the year up with a splash! Our Dolphins had a blast at the Health & Wellness Fair and End-of-Year Carnival! Families explored valuable resources while participating in crafts, face painting, delicious food, balloons, games and plenty of prizes. But the undisputed highlight was the Water Bucket Duel Machine, where two players raced to crank their side of the machine until one of the two buckets tipped.
A huge thank you to everyone who made this event so much fun! Here's to a fantastic year, Dolphins!

This week, Vargas held its 4th Annual Talent Show. Our Golden Owls brought the house down.
Students showed off talents of every kind, including a synchronized swim routine, singing, dancing, Taekwondo, a diabolo performance, acting, and instruments like piano, electric guitar and even the mridangam.
We are so proud of every student who stepped into the spotlight. A huge thank you to the families, teachers and volunteers who helped make it all happen. What an incredible community we have!
