🎓 Big congratulations to our incredible May 2026 graduate! 🎓
We are so proud to celebrate Chanda Winters Martin, who graduated from Southwest Baptist University - Mountain View with her Associate in General Studies this past May! 🌟 This is just the beginning for Chanda, as she is continuing her journey at SBU to earn her Bachelor of Science in Psychology.
To celebrate her achievement, we asked Chanda to share some reflections on her time here and her vision for the future:
✨ Favorite Campus Memory: "Stepping into my first day of class on campus, a wave of déjà vu washed over me. Standing at the front, a familiar, angelic figure with a warm, motherly smile greeted us. It was Mrs. Appleton, the very same teacher who had welcomed me to kindergarten all those years ago in 1985. Seeing her again, looking just as kind and radiant as she did decades prior, was an incredibly touching moment. It felt like a beautiful, full-circle encounter, a reminder of the enduring power of a wonderful teacher and the sweet echoes of our past."
🌍 The Next Big Goal: "My grand plan is global goodness.. now how I'm going to accomplish that, it's still somewhat up in the air. Maybe I could start off with something like.. a 'Love Thy Neighbor' app. My Startup Idea for World Peace."
🙏 Advice to Her Past Self: "The last decade of my life has been the hardest I've ever endured. If I would have just had more faith in God, I never would have had to experience the fear, the sadness, or the confusion. He was right beside me the whole time! So, there's absolutely no reason to think the next 10 years are going to be any different.. I would tell the old me, to give every bit of it to God! Those negative feelings are not from him, and that is not what he wants me to carry, during this spiritual journey."
