Behind every thriving school district is the people who pour their hearts into it, year after year. Last night, the Board of Trustees was proud to celebrate our staff members' years of service and retirements with the warmth and gratitude they so deserve.
Please join us in recognizing these dedicated individuals (see the full list here: http://mvw.sd/MwjVx) for their lasting impact on our students and families.

This summer, the Castro campus will not have construction. Please be aware that our neighbor, Mistral Elementary, will undergo important infrastructure improvements from June 6-August 11 to increase school safety and efficiency.
At Mistral, new roofs will replace aging materials with lighter-colored surfaces that improve campus heating and cooling efficiency. Please follow all fencing, cones, and signage for your safety.
Construction will happen at Mistral typically during the weekdays, but it is possible that work will continue on the weekends. Expect some noise and truck traffic. We will work to minimize disruptions to the neighborhood.
Both Castro and Mistral are scheduled for the construction of outdoor learning areas in Summer 2027. New outdoor learning areas will include shaded seating, colorful play spaces, outdoor classrooms, gardens and native plants—supporting hands-on learning, student well-being and environmental stewardship
Thank you for your patience as we improve the campuses for the community.
Thanks to our community, these improvements are the result of 2020’s Measure T bond. For more: https://www.mvwsd.org/construction

As we observe Memorial Day, we would like to take a moment to reflect on the meaning of this important national holiday. Memorial Day is a time to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives while serving in the United States Armed Forces. We are grateful for their service.

Castro is wrapping the year up with a splash! Our Dolphins had a blast at the Health & Wellness Fair and End-of-Year Carnival! Families explored valuable resources while participating in crafts, face painting, delicious food, balloons, games and plenty of prizes. But the undisputed highlight was the Water Bucket Duel Machine, where two players raced to crank their side of the machine until one of the two buckets tipped.
A huge thank you to everyone who made this event so much fun! Here's to a fantastic year, Dolphins!
