Our buses are ready to leave the garage bright and early in the morning to pick up Liberty Eagles for the first day of school! As excitement fills our communities, please slow down, stay alert, and always stop for buses with flashing red lights.

Let’s work together to make every bus stop, every ride, and every mile a safe one. We can’t wait to welcome our students back tomorrow!

A few weeks ago, Special Education teachers spent a couple days reviewing student files and looking closely at students’ goals for the upcoming year. Yesterday, several members of our Special Education team participated in Crisis Prevention training. CPI equips educators with strategies to recognize early signs of distress, prevent situations from escalating, and respond safely and compassionately when a student is experiencing a crisis.

We are incredibly proud of our 2026–2027 Special Education team across the district! Their patience, compassion, teamwork, and commitment to meeting the individual needs of students make a difference every single day. We are grateful for a team that continues learning and preparing so every student feels safe, supported, and valued.

A busy week calls for a great finish! Our MVBT administrators wrapped up a week full of planning, preparing, and getting ready to welcome students back with a lunch meeting at Gramma Nell’s in Birch Tree. Great food, meeting room, and awesome service were the perfect way to end the week!

The team is looking forward to welcoming students back on Monday!

🚗 MVE & BTE Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures
As we begin the school year, we want to make sure drop-off and pick-up at both Mountain View Elementary (MVE) and Birch Tree Elementary (BTE) are safe, efficient, and as smooth as possible for everyone.
We know these times of day can be busy, and we appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation. Please follow the designated traffic patterns and staff directions at all times. These procedures are in place first and foremost for the safety of our students and families.

Morning Drop-Off
🚌 BTE: The main entrance is a bus drop-off ONLY from 7:20–7:30 a.m.
🚌 MVE: The bus lane is OFF LIMITS to through traffic. It is designated for school buses and staff ONLY from 7:00–7:49 a.m.
This is to ensure the safety of all of our students so they can enter the building safely.
All parent drop-offs must be at the designated drop-off area until 7:50 a.m.

🏫 School Dismissal Procedures
Students being picked up by parents/guardians and walkers will be dismissed at 3:20p.m.
Parents/guardians of students not riding the bus must drive or park in the designated drop-off/pick-up areas.
Crossing guards will be located at all crosswalk areas from 3:15–3:40 p.m.
Bus riders will be dismissed to the buses at approximately 3:40 p.m.
Thank you for working with us, following the procedures, and helping make drop-off and pick-up a positive experience for our students, families, and staff! ❤️

🚗 Drop-Off & Pick-Up Reminders
Please remain in your vehicle during drop-off and pick-up unless directed otherwise by staff.
If you need to exit the vehicle, please use the designated parking areas rather than stopping in the traffic line.
Please pull forward as far as possible so we can keep the line moving.
Do not pass other vehicles in the drop-off or pick-up line.
Please have students ready to exit/enter the vehicle when you reach the designated area.
Follow all posted signs, traffic patterns, and directions from school staff.
Please do not use the drop-off/pick-up lane as a parking area.

This morning, our entire MVBT staff had the opportunity to be part of an important conversation about the future of our district!

Joel Gundelfinger and Scott Downey with Navitas joined us to talk about the future of MVBT. This morning wasn't just about hearing from Navitas, it was about hearing from our staff.

Joel and Scott engaged employees in conversations and real-time survey questions about what they see, what they need, and what they envision for the future of MVBT. And yes...if you look closely at the picture, it may look like we had an entire gym full of employees on their phones! They were actually using their phones to participate in the survey and share their input. We promise they were on task!

We appreciate Joel and Scott for spending the morning with us and, most importantly, we appreciate our staff for being willing to think about where we are, where we need to go, and what our schools could look like in the future.
