Mountain Pine Band Students attend Band Camp at UAM in Monticello.

Seven high school band students from Mountain Pine are currently attending UAM Band camp this week down in Monticello and are enjoying every minute! They arrived yesterday with Ms Graham, who has worked the camp for 5 years so far. The students moved into college dorm rooms on campus and auditioned into “chairs” per their instrument based on scales and sight reading abilities.

The students placed in the following chairs:
Valarius Fox placed 2nd on Clarinet
Phoenix Riechardt placed 2nd on Bass Clarinet
Noah Grise placed 2nd on Alto Sax
Raymond Anderson placed 7th on Trumpet
Colleen Liberoth placed 2nd on Baritone
Nate Harrison placed 6th on Percussion
Warren Smith placed 9th on Percussion

The students participate in about 4.5 hours of rehearsal throughout the day, a sectional with a professional on their instrument, various electives like music theory, history of rock and roll, and much more. They are also participating in small ensembles like woodwind choir, brass ensemble or Jazz Band. They also have been enjoying walking the beautiful campus here at Monticello and eating the cafeteria meals! Tonight we have the pleasure of attending the 106 Army Rock Band Concert where the crowd is hyped!

It’s another day of senior celebration!!! Round 2!

Senior Trumpet player, Corbin Theriot!

Senior trumpet player Corbin Theriot is preparing to begin an exciting new chapter as he enlists in the United States Marine Corps and heads off to boot camp soon. We are incredibly proud of his dedication, discipline, and willingness to serve our country. Corbin has been a valued part of the trumpet section, sharing his talent and passion for music, and we hope he continues to keep his trumpet close even after graduation. We wish him all the best as he takes on this new challenge—may he stay healthy, strong, and successful in all that lies ahead. We can’t wait to see where life takes him and all the amazing things his future holds!

It’s another Senior Celebration Round 2! We are celebrating all the way to Graduation!

Let’s hear it for Senior Saxophone Sabrina Brown!

Senior Saxophone player Sabrina Brown has been such a special part of our band family. As she heads to Arkansas Tech for her next adventure, we know she’ll do amazing things, but she’ll definitely be missed. Sabrina has always been like the band mom—always looking out for others, offering support to Mr Steck, and making sure everyone had a uniform. Her kindness, leadership, tenacity, and heart have left a lasting mark on all of us. While we’ll miss hearing her sweet tenor saxophone, we’re so excited to watch her future unfold and can’t wait to see all she accomplishes. Arkansas Tech is lucky to have her and we hope you have a ball!

It’s another Senior Celebration!!! Let’s celebrate our band seniors again! We just love them so why not?!?!

Emilee Bailey, Senior Clarinet!

As Emilee Bailey prepares to graduate, we couldn’t be more proud of all she has accomplished. Her dedication and talent have shined both on and off the band field—from her commitment as a clarinet player in the band to her hard work as a member of the bowling team. Emilee has represented her school with excellence, determination, and spirit, and we know those same qualities will take her far as she begins this exciting new chapter at Arkansas Tech University. We celebrate all she has achieved and look forward to watching her future unfold—there’s no doubt great things are ahead for her! The sky’s the limit!

It’s another Senior Celebration!!! We are celebrating all the way until Graduation on May 22nd!

Today’s Senior is Trumpet Player, Corbin Theriot.

Corbin started band in 6th grade with Mr Johns and Mr. Nottingham. He’s played football and baseball as well as leadership in the band. Corbin has enlisted in the Marines and will head off to bootcamp this summer! We are so proud of this young man and can’t wait to see what he does with his future.
